The first thing that you have to do in this regard is to find out the right meat. Remember, the best burger recipe can only be actualized when you use the right beef for grilling. You should choose beef patties that are 80 per cent lean. Sometimes, you buy the frozen meats. In that case you must thaw the meat before grilling it. Proper shaping of the meat is also very important. Also, you have to press one finger on the middle of the meat patties to make sure that it is not bulging when you are grilling it.
It is very important to ensure that the burgers are cooked very well. Therefore, you should use the instant read thermometer. You have to insert the thermometer into the middle of the patties and check the temperature. Ideally, the temperature of a rightly cooked meat should be somewhere around 160 degrees Fahrenheit. However, you may not have a thermometer with you. In that case you have to check out whether the color of the inside of the burger has turned pink.
While grilling the patties, make sure that you are adding salt and pepper. This will improve the flavor and aroma of the patties. Ideally, each side of the burger should be cooked for around six minutes. You should be careful while turning the burgers. For that you should use spatula or tongs.
